about

XATARXA's debut album.

XATARXA refers to Cortázar's short story "Satarsa". The ideology of the story is the feeling of the persecuted, the oppressed and marginalized. The key word is "rat" because it is a word full of content and ideological significance. Rats are a complex symbol. The metaphor involves people and animals at the same time and provides an image of intermingling: Satarsa is both the rats and an army that hunts. In the course of the story, the different images shift to take the place of the metaphor 'rat'. Sometimes it is easy to tell who the referent is and sometimes not. Symbolism, absurdity and palindromes describe a world that is upside down. "Atar a la ratas, Satarsa la rata" (Tie the rats, Satarsa the rat).

The band has finished recording its first album and has been active alternating with bands from the scene in various forums and stages in Mexico City since its debut on a day as black as Friday the thirteenth, in the year 2023.
